Ibadan Welfare Advancement Group operates as a Private Sector-Oriented Membership Organization (PSMO) to deploy New Ideas, Wisdom and Strategies to Establish, Manage and Preserve Business Ventures and Institutions in the areas of Wealth Creation, Job Creation, Wealth Preservation and Community Welfare Advocacy for the progress of Ibadanland. The Group will enter into collaboration with Corporate Bodies, Foreign Investors, Donor Agencies, Development Organizations, Local, State and Federal Governments of Nigeria in ways that will be beneficial to Ibadanland.

The Global Business Arm of the Group is packaged along the Models of Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN), Oodua Investment Group and IBILE Holdings of Lagos. The Cell and Associate Companies of the Holding Company will engage in the businesses of Agriculture, Real Estate, Merchandising, Construction, Hospitality, Education, Skills Upgrade, Tourism and other Lines of Business permitted in their objects.

- IWA Group operates like a formal BMO (Business Membership Organization).
- Information is disseminated through the Project Office and various electronics media.
- Public Lectures on the Theme “Towards Ibadan As A City-State” holds on Bi-annual Basis.
- National Conference on the Theme “Connecting the Yesterday of Ibadanland with Her Tomorrow” holds on Annual Basis.
- Patrons of the Group are from the Lineage of the highly eminent Indigenes of Ibadanland.
- Protection of Ibadan Land, Membership Drive, Investing on Ibadanland and Ibadan Image Laundering are the Responsibilities of each Member of the Group anywhere in the world
- The Business Objectives of the Group are actualized through Special Purpose Companies.
- Business Interests of the Group are managed by Members with Cognate Experiences.
- IWA Group may identify itself in the Public through Traditional or Corporate Uniforms.
- IWA will celebrate its Member for only No.1 position in outstanding endeavours at Traditional, Local, State, National and International Levels in both Public and Private Formal Sector Endeavours only.
Economic Decline
A significant number of businesses that thrived in Ibadan between 1901 and 1991 have either closed, relocated, or been sold off since 1992, signaling a worrying trend of economic decline.

- IWA Group is not a Socio-Cultural Club. It is an Ethno-Economic Group.
- It is not a Group with Club House but with Secretariat and Business Outfits.
- IWA does not engage in the Social Events of Members as a Group only on individual basis.
